Play the video of the explosion of the Challenger for the students, then ask them:

12、 Should we continue to send people into space? 2. Teacher shows the topic on the screen Should we continue to send people into space? Group A : You are for the topic Group B:? You are against the topic. 3. Divide the students into two groups and ask them to work in groups for discussion. Tell

13、them they will hold a debate in class after their discussion. Give some useful expressions and ideas to help the students before the discussion ? 14、(作者目擊挑戰(zhàn)者號遇難)，教師就可以問學(xué)生：“你們看過了挑戰(zhàn)者號遇難的情景嗎”？進而播放挑戰(zhàn)者號遇難的過程，當(dāng)學(xué)生還處在悲痛中時，教師進一步問：“Should we continue to send people into space?” 這幾個環(huán)節(jié)層層緊扣，過渡自然，最后引導(dǎo)學(xué)生分組討論和辯論。 學(xué)習(xí)本文后，學(xué)生意識到人類在太空的探索過程中取得了成就，但也付出了代價?？茖W(xué)家們不畏艱難，為人類探索太空，和平開發(fā)利用空間資源而奮斗不止的精神鼓舞并激勵著同學(xué)們。 Step 5 Homework Make a time line of Chinese space exploration. 設(shè)計意圖： 鼓勵學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)，上網(wǎng)去查詢并收集有關(guān)信息和資料。
