9、scuss with their desk mates about the qualities that a great people has, and then to stand up and give their own ideas。 3. The T gives some comments on their performance Step 2. Pre—reading The T introduces the six famous people to Ss, and then Ss decide whether they are great people or not. P
10、eriod 3 Reading Step 1. Fast reading 1. Ss read the passage and divide then whole passage into two parts(the T provides them two choices and they match them ) in 15 minutes. After that, the whole class checks the answers together。 Part1. Before Elias met Nelson Mandela Part 2. After Elias met N
11、elson Mandela 2. Ss read the whole passage again and complete the multiple choice on their workbooks in 10 minutes and then ask 5 students to give their answers. Step 2。 Language points 1. 1).Ss read the first paragraph together, and then the T explains the key language points to Ss. After that,

Period 5 Grammar attributive clause Ⅱ Step 1。 關(guān)系副詞when/where/why引導(dǎo)的定語從句 —-——-當(dāng)定語從句所修飾的先行詞邏輯上在定語從句中做狀語(表地點、時間、原因、方式等)時 1. when 表示時間,做時間狀語 e.g. I'll never fo
19、rget the time when we worked on the farm。 2.where表地點,引導(dǎo)地點狀語從句 e.g。 The hotel where we stayed was very clean。 3。why 表原因,其先行詞一般是reason,在從句中在原因狀語從句 e.g。 The reason why he was late was that he missed his train。 4.關(guān)系副詞通??梢杂?介詞+ which替換 when= at/ in / during/ on…+which where= in/ at/ on…+which why
20、=for+which eg. 1. the date when/on which we attended the meeting was June 18。 2. Great changes are taking place in the city where/ in which we live. 3. Is that the reason why / for which he was late for school? Step 2。 關(guān)系副詞和關(guān)系代詞的判斷方法 做狀語,用關(guān)系副詞或介詞+ which 做主語或賓語,用關(guān)系代詞 Eg. 1。I'll never forgot th
21、e days when I played with you. 3. The factory(that/ which) we visited yesterday was built last year. Step 3. 介詞+which/whom引導(dǎo)的定語從句 修飾物時——- which 修飾人時—-—whom Eg. 1.This is the room in which we lived last year。 3. This is the person from whomn I borrowed the English novel。 注意: 1. 含有介詞的動詞短語不能
22、拆開,介詞扔放在動詞的后面。 Eg. Is this book which she is looking for? 2. 介詞+ which/ whom 既可以引導(dǎo)限制性定語從句,也可以引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。 eg. 1。I remember the day on which I joined the Party。 3. He has two daughters, one of which is a nurse. Step 4. Homework Ss complete the exercise about attributive clause. 形容詞后綴:

24、ike意為:像……的(like)例詞: childlike,statesmanlike,tiger-like 5.—y;—ish意為:像……一般的(somewhat like)例詞:meaty,sandy, silky,hairy,leafy,watery,foolish,girlish,blackish,thinnish 6.—some意為:像……一樣的;引起……的;有……品質(zhì)的(like;causing; having the quality of)例詞:troublesome,burdensome,wholesome,tiresome,bothersome 7.—able(i
25、ble)意為:能……的;可以……的(able to be ;capable)例詞: changeable,readable,drinkable,comfortable,expansible,convincible 8.—ed意為:有……的(having,etc.)例詞:wooded,pointed,moneyed, odd—shaped 9.—al意為:有……屬性的,……類型的(nature of,typical of)例詞:cultural,personal,regional,musical 10.—ary(ory)意為:屬于……的,與……相連的(belonging to;con

27、ving the nature or quality of;given or tending to)例詞:attractive, talkative,restrictive,defensive,preventive,constructive,sensitive 四、副詞后綴 常見的此類后綴及其具體含義如下: 1.-ly意為:以……方式(in a。.。manner;etc.) 例詞:happily, boldly,attentive— ly,strangely 2.-ward(s)意為:表示方式或動作的方向(manner and direction of movement)例詞:onward(s),backward(s),earthward(s),homeward(s),eastward(s) 3.—wise意為:1)按照……方式(in the manner of)例詞:crabwise,clockwise2)就……而言(as far as .。。is concerned)例詞:weatherwise ,educationwise 有一個原因的單音節(jié)詞,結(jié)尾只有一個單音輔音,在加以元音后綴是,要雙寫這個輔音.例詞:run + er = runner hit + ing = hitting 6
