1、Subject Clauses主 語 從 句 What she said is not yet known. That we shall be late is certain. It is certain that we shall be late. We can see from these sentences that a sentence serves as subject, so we call it Subject Clause. 主 語 從 句（ Noun Clauses as the Subject） 定 義 ： 用 作 主 語 的 從 句 叫 主 語 從 句 ， 它 是 名 詞

2、 性 從句 之 一 。 引 導 主 語 從 句 的 連 接 詞 有 ： 連 詞 that, whether； 連 接 代 詞 who, whom, whose ,what和 which； 連 接 副 詞 when, where, how和 why。 用 法 ： 1) what在 主 語 從 句 中 作 主 語 ， 表 語 ， 賓 語 ， 定 語What the teacher said today was quite right. 老 師 今 天 說 的 話 是 十 分 正 確 的 。 What made him sad was that his father died yesterday .

3、 What China used to be no longer exists today . 2) 由 連 詞 that引 起 的 主 語 從 句 ： That they are badly in need of help is quite clear. 他 們 急 需 幫 助 ， 這 是 十 分 明 顯 的 。 但 是 這 類 句 子 在 大 多 數 情 況 下 會 放 到 整 個 句子 的 后 部 去 ， 而 用 代 詞 it作 形 式 主 語 。 處 理 好 幾 對 關 系1. that 和 what1._ I cant understand is why he has changed

9、r who 注 意 : 上 述 例 句 中 的 主 語 從 句 都 是 放 在 句 首 , 但 有 時 為 了 使 句 子 結 構 平 衡 , 避 免 “ 頭 重 腳輕 ” , 常 用 it 作 形 式 主 語 , 而 把 從 句 放 在 后 面 。 例 如 : It is a pity that she has made such a mistake. 她 犯 了 這 樣 一 個 錯 誤 , 真 是 遺 憾 。 這 樣 就 構 成 了 下 面 一 些 常 用 句 型 : 1) It is + adj. / n. +從 句 It is a pity/shame that. 遺 憾 的 是 It

10、 is possible that. 很 可 能 It is unlikely that. 不 可 能 2) It +vi/ link.verb +從 句 It seems/appears that. 似 乎 It happened that. 碰 巧 3) It + be +過 去 分 詞 +從 句 It is said that. 據 說 It is known to all that. 眾 所 周 知 It is reported that. 據 報 道 It is believed that. 據 信 ;人 們 相 信 It is suggested that. 有 人 建 議 It

11、must be pointed out that. 必 須 指 出 It has been proved that. 已 證 明 . 如 : It is believed that at least a score of buildings were damaged or destroyed. 據 信 , 至 少 有 二 十 座 樓 房 遭 到 破 壞 或 徹底 毀 掉 。 5) . 用 于 It is important / natural / necessary / impossible that.句 型 中 , 主 語 從 句 應 使 用 虛 擬 語 氣 , 謂 語 動 詞 用“shou
