4、 are still popular today. They began writing under the pen names of Cuter, Ellis, and Acton Bell, and after their work on publishing poems failed, they began working on novels. Charlotte was the only one of the three to become a successful novelist in her own lifetime. Her famous works: Jane Eyre.

5、Emily Bronte, perhaps the greatest writer of the three sisters, published only one novel, Wuthering Heights (1847), a story of the doomed love and revenge. The novel didn’t gain immediate success as Charlotte’s Jane Eyre. But it has acclaimed later fame as one of the most intense novels written in t
