必修2Unit 5李仕才考點規(guī)范練(必修2Unit 5)【短文語法填空】Most Americans don't like to get advice from members of their family. They get advice from “strangers”. When they need advice, they don't _1_ (usual) go to people they know. Instead many of _2_ write letters to newspapers and magazines _3_ give advice on many _4_ (difference) subjects including family problems, the use of language, health, cooking, child care, clothes, _5_ even on how to buy a house or a car. Most newspapers regularly print letters _6_ readers with problems. Along with the letters there are answers written by people who _7_ (suppose) to know how to solve such problems. Some of these writers are doctors, and _8_ are lawyers or educators. But two of _9_ most famous writers of advice are women without special _10_ (train) for this kind of work.解析:1usually修飾動詞go,用副詞形式usually。2them代替most Americans,并作of的賓語,故填them。3that/which所填詞引導定語從句,修飾先行詞newspapers and magazines,并在從句中作主語,故用that或which。4different修飾名詞用形容詞形式different。5and所填詞連接on how to buy.和on many different subjects.兩個并列結構,故用and。6from本句意為“大部分報紙定期刊登讀者來信提出的問題”。from“來自,源自”。7are supposedbe supposed to do sth.“應該做某事”,是固定用法;又因who指代people,故填are supposed。8others由some of these writers.可知,此處填others,some.others.“一些另一些”。9the形容詞最高級前面加定冠詞the。10training所填詞作without的賓語,并且由形容詞special修飾,故填名詞形式training。.閱讀理解ANot so long ago, takeout meant cheap, quick and oily meals. But a recent report has found that people under 35 are now demanding food thats fresh and healthfulas well as fast.Thats good news for people like Charley Wang,co-founder of community food start-up Josephine.Customers can go to Josephines website, choose from a list of home-cooked options, pay online and pick up dinner within minutes of placing their order.“So its convenient,”says Renee McGhee,60,who has sold her home-made comfort food on Josephine.“Its like, heres a business in your hand.Run with it!”The company takes 10 percent of cooks income in exchange for access to the online ordering platform, community forum and marketing materials. Most of the cooks on Josephine, like McGhee, operate out of their home kitchens. But the companys most popular meals come from an unexpected place:a middle school.Willard Middle School in Berkeley,Calif.,is in its second year of partnering Josephine to make and sell hundreds of meals on one designated(指定的) day each monthwith some adult in charge.Josephine gets the kind of community credibility(可信性) consumers want, while the school gets a cool learning opportunity and a much-needed source of ongoing funding. The partnership has also taught Willard students a lot about the food business. However, last month, the city of Berkeleys Environmental Health Division sent several Josephine cooksincluding McGheeorders to stop selling meals from their homes without a permit.“The issue really is about food safety and being able to inspect how food is prepared,”said Matthai Chakko,a spokesman for the city of Berkeley.Luckily, the kids at Willard Middle School have access to commercial-grade kitchens that have the necessary permits. And the company says it is pushing to change Californias law regarding who can make and sell food.“People were happy and pleased to come here and get their meals, and I think thats their right,”McGhee says.1.Whats the biggest attraction of Josephine?A.It provides cheap food.B.It provides quality food.C.Its easy to buy food on it.D.Theres a rich variety of food on it.2.What can we say about the cooperation between Josephine and Willard Middle School?A.It was started this year.B.It burdens the students.C.It has benefited both sides.D.It is opposed by the government.3.Whats McGhees attitude towards the orders from Berkeleys Environmental Health Division?A.Uninterested.B.Surprised.C.Supportive.D.Dissatisfied.BMahendra, a former senior officer at the State Bank of India, talks about his disabled and wounded dogs like a father about his childrenwith the same love, affection, and warmth. He's a wellknown animal rights activist, the secretary at People for Animals (PFA). But nothing explains Mahendra better than his love for animals. It was this love that led him to establish India's first shelter home for dogs living with disabilities.    It all started in 1998 when, while taking a midnight walk, Mahendra came across a very weak dog on the street, whose bones were seen under its skin. Mahendra decided to feed it and for the next couple of days it became the centre of his life, until the night when he found it dead. Since then, Mahendra started providing treatment to all wounded and sick dogs he came across. After some time, somebody told Mahendra about PFA, India's largest animal welfare organization, chaired by Mrs Maneka Gandhi. Mahendra contacted her and, impressed by the work he was doing, Mrs Gandhi asked him to start a PFA chapter in Ahmedabad.    Thus, in 2014, he started the shelter. It took a long time for Mahendra to find land where the shelter could be set up. Finally, Ramesh Bhai Patel, a farmer from a village named Jundal, agreed to give his land for nothing. Along with a team of four doctors and many volunteers, the shelter now has twentyfive dogs that were unable to walk at all when they were brought in. Today, they're slowly healing.    Dogs that have healed with proper treatment are sent back to where they came from if the environment there is safe. However, the shelter will be home to the blind dogs for all their lives, says Mahendra.    The shelter runs on the money coming from Mahendra's own pocket. There have been some financial crunches now and then but Mahendra is determined that no matter what challenges come their way, they'll fight through.1.From Paragraph 1, what can we know about Mahendra?A.His affection for animals.B.His love for senior people.C.His care for disabled people.D.His devotion to protecting his children.2.Mahendra decided to do something for animals because of _.A.the death of a homeless sick dogB.his meeting with a sick dog one nightC.the encouragement of Mrs GandhiD.his contact with the organization PFA3.In his effort to build the shelter, Mahendra _.A.spent much money hiring a landB.received little support from othersC.got a free land from a farmerD.was financially supported by the government4.What does the underlined word “crunches” in the last paragraph mean?A.Aids.B.Markets.C.Services.D.Difficulties.參考答案: 1.A; 2.A; 3.C; 4.D解析: 1.細節(jié)題。根據(jù)第1段“But nothing explains Mahendra better than his love for animals.
