Due to peoples different way of living, different location and history, there are so many cultural differences. So its common for someone living in a foreign country to experience some kind of “cultural shock”. In its narrow sense, it refers to the troubles caused by cultural misunderstanging. (PPT)In 2001, 梁家輝and 蔣雯麗starred a movie called Gua Sha. Do you know Gua Sha? As we all know, gua sha is a traditional Chinese treatment for cold, headache, etc. which will leave bruise on the body. Because of Aamericans dont understand Gua Sha, the leading role, Xu Datong, got into a serious trouble. We will watch part of the movie. When watching the video, please consider the questions: 1. Similarly when different cultures are mixed together, we will have a more colorful world. So, should we abandon our culture? (No.) Instead, we should (preserve and promote our own culture) (PPT) let other countries understand us, appreciate our culture, so that we can communicate with each other better and enjoy our lives better. As for the homework, please write a report entitled “Cultural differences” . Explain the importance of understanding different cultures and the right attitude towards it with interesting examples.
