學(xué)習(xí)動(dòng)詞be的一般過去時(shí),要注意以下四點(diǎn):
【一】時(shí)間狀語。
例如:yesterday, last night/week/month/year, last Saturday, the day before yesterday, in 1998, five years ago等。
【二】形式。
形式多樣:當(dāng)主語是第一人稱單數(shù)或第三人稱單數(shù)時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞用was;主語是第二人稱或其他人稱復(fù)數(shù)時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞用were。
【三】否定句結(jié)構(gòu)。與動(dòng)詞be的一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)一樣,它在動(dòng)詞后面加not即可變成否定句,并且was, were與not可以縮寫成wasn’t, weren’t。
【四】疑問句式。把was, were提到句首,句末用問號(hào)即可變?yōu)橐话阋蓡柧洹?

How’s it going? Are you busy with your study these days?
I’ve been back at school 1 nearly four weeks. I’m very glad to tell you that great 2 have taken place in our school this term. First of all, we’re asked to “clear our plates” when having our meals and say 3 to wasting. Some of us used to order more than what we could eat. That was a big waste of food.
