河南省鄭州市2014高考英語(yǔ)一輪 閱讀理解暑假訓(xùn)練題(7)

鄭州市2014高考英語(yǔ)一輪(暑假) 閱讀理解訓(xùn)練(7)及答案1.(201*江蘇卷)DShay asked, “Do you think theyll let me play?” Shays father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son, mentally and physically disabled, were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence.Shays father approached one of the boys on the field and asked if Shay could play, not expecting much. The boy looked around and said, “Were losing by six runs (分) and the game is in the eighth inning (局).I guess he can be on our team and well try to put him in to bat in the final inning.Shay struggled over to the teams bench and put on a team shirt with a broad smile and his father had a small tear in his eye and warmth in heart. The boys saw the fathers joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shays team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the final inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously joyful just to be in the game and on the field. In the bottom of the final inning, Shays team scored again. Now, Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. Would they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was almost impossible. The first pitch (投) came and Shay missed. The pitcher again again took a few steps forward to throw the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in , Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher. The pitcher could have easily thrown he ball to the first baseman and Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game .Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the head of the first baseman, beyond the reach of all teammates, The audience and the players from both teams started screaming,“Shay, run to first! ”Never in his life had Shay ever run that far but made it to first base, wide-eyed and shocked.Everyone should, “Run to second!” Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second.By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the smallest guy on their team, who had a chance to be the hero for his team fir the first time, could have thrown the ball to the second baseman, but he understood the pitchers intentions and he too intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third basemans head. All were screaming,“Shay,Shay,Shay, all the way Shay.” Shay reached third base when one opposing player ran to help him and shouted, “Shay, run to third.” As Shay rounded third, all were on their feet, crying,“Shay, run home!”Shay ran to home, stepped on the home base and was cheered as the hero who the who won the game for his team. That day, the boys from both teams helped bring a piece true love and humanity into this world. Shay didnt make it to another summer and died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy and coming home and seeing his mother tearfully hug her little hero of the day!66.Not expecting much, Shays father still asked the boy if Shay could play, mainly because the father _.A. noticed some of the boys on the field were heistingB. guessed his presence would affect the boys decisionC. learned some of the boys on the field knew Shay wellD. understood Shay did need a feeling of being accepted67. Bush declares "national tragedy" The worst attack on US soil since Pearl Harbor tore George W. Bush from what should have been routine education event Tuesday and threw him into the direst crisis of his young presidency. The US leader was reading to schoolchildren at an elemen tary school when his chief of staff, Andrew Card, interrupted him and whispered into his ear. The president's face clouded but he said nothing. "We'll talk about it later, "He told reporters as he walked out of Sandra Kay Daniels' second grade class, where he also listened to 18 smiling young pupils go through routine reading and pronunciation clrills. Card's intervention came after a plane slammed into one of New York' s twin World Trade Center towers. but before a second plane crashed into the other landmark office building. The president spoke out after the second incident, aborting another education themed event and declaring "a national trag edy"and vowing an all-out hunt for the authors of what he called an apparent terrorist attack. Bush said"he had ordered that the full resources of the fed eral government go to help the victims and their families and to conduct a fullscale investigation to hunt down and to find those folks that committed this act. Terrorism against our na tion will not stand.""Today we've had a national tragedy. Two airplanes have crashed into the World Trade Center in an apparent terrorist at tack on our country. In "aborting another education-themed event" the word "aborting"is the same meaning with_. A. putting off B. delayingC. postponing D. stopping 答案: D指導(dǎo):詞義解釋。abort基本意是“流產(chǎn)”,延伸義是“停止、取消”。3. I suggest you look a- round you. The everyday world is full of scenes being played by an ever-changing group of actors. You probably passed a dozen picture situations without noticing on your way to work this morning. The realistic approach (態(tài)度) to photograph has been perfected in the past by such masters as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Bill Brand. But while you can learn a great deal from looking at the works of others, any success you can hope to achieve in this field has to come from developing an individual approach. The main requirement for any photographer has little to do with technical matters. You must develop an awareness (觀察) of the world around you and the people who live in it, and you should learn to notice when a situation may develop to a point where you will be able to take a good picture. Those who have reached this happy state will be prepared when that moment comes, and will simply raise their camera quickly and shoot. Others who are not so aware will be struggling with the camera cases and lens (鏡頭) caps. Film manufactures must be delighted at the'thought of the inexperienced photographer setting out in search of the right situation and the right moment. Many miles of costly material have passed through thousands of cameras as this endless search continues. But although this waste must be put down to inexperience, you'll find that even the professionals have to use a lot of film when they are out shooting. Not every shot is going to be a winner. If you look at the works of even the best photographers, you'll notice dozens of pictures have had to be taken only because they lead up to the successful shot of a situation that the photographer has obviously been observing through the lens. You may find that you have taken one or two pictures after the right moment has pas- sed as well There is seldom more than one shot which stands out. There is just one point where it all comes together, and often you have to waste film to catch that precious moment. 1. According to the passage, one can become a better real-life photographer by_. A. watching the photographers at work B. learning about famous photographers C. just taking a great many photographs D. developing skills and ideas for yourself 答案:D 指導(dǎo):從文中的描寫可以獲知,作者談到如何才能成為一個(gè)好的攝影師,談到要注意身邊的素材、觀察周圍的世界、還要注意攝影技巧,因此選D.2. The writer thinks that a photographer is required to_. A. be able to tell when a good situation might come B. go out and search for unusual situations C. be highly skilled in camerea techniques D. have a camera which is easy and quick to use 答案:A 指導(dǎo):文中作者談到生活中處處有picturesituations(B錯(cuò)),第三段的首句告訴我們C不對(duì),最后一句表示不在于照相機(jī)好不好用,在于攝影師對(duì)生活的aware(D錯(cuò)),從該段中間的講述可知A對(duì),文中有"will be prepared when that moment comes"3. Most likely, to catch the right moment, one must _. A. take pictures without too much preparation B. take a whole series of similar pictures C. take great care to set up the situation D. take one picture just at the right moment 答案:B 指導(dǎo):從文中最后兩段的講述可知,即使是專業(yè)人士,他們?yōu)榱瞬蹲剿查g往往要浪費(fèi)很多膠卷,“dozens。f pictures have had to be taken for the successful shot,”因此選B.4. The passage is _. A. an introduction to photography B. an advertisement for film C. a history of photography D. part of a book of camera instruction 答案:A 指導(dǎo):全文講述攝影師必須注意觀察生活,捕捉real-life situations,不要擔(dān)心浪費(fèi)膠卷,為了捕捉that precious moment, often you have to waste film,不難看出其寫作宗旨是A.*結(jié)束
