Lead-in 導(dǎo)入Purpose : To get Ss to learn about volcano eruption and the disasters resulting from it.目 的: 使學(xué)生了解火山爆發(fā)的過(guò)程以及其導(dǎo)致的災(zāi)難。T：Show a piece of video which is about the volcano eruption to stimulate the Ss visually. Give them two questions at the same time.“What do you think of volcano eruption and what can we do about it? T: A volcano eruption can do great damage to human beings, It seems that we human beings are powerless in front of these natural forces. But it can be predicted and damage can be reduced, that is to say, prediction is very important. Who will do this kind of job and what do you think of the job?Perhaps,they will choose the words “dangerous,boring or tired” to describe the volcanologists job, catch the chance to lead to the topic of the passage “An Exciting Job”, which will make a contrast, making the Ss guess the reason why the writer says his job is “exciting” rather than “dangerous or other words”.Then listen and show the real reason said by the writer in the passage.At last,ask Ss:“Do you want to know more about the passage?”設(shè)計(jì)理念：通過(guò)播放一段火山爆發(fā)的視頻短片來(lái)刺激學(xué)生的視覺(jué)。同時(shí)提問(wèn)學(xué)生兩個(gè)問(wèn)題，“你是怎樣看待火山爆發(fā)的？我們?nèi)祟惸茏鲂┦裁?？”同學(xué)們會(huì)談到火山爆發(fā)以及對(duì)人類造成的傷害，面對(duì)自然災(zāi)害的強(qiáng)大，我們?nèi)祟愓娴臒o(wú)能為力嗎？由此引出預(yù)測(cè)工作的無(wú)比重要。而這項(xiàng)工作必須由火山學(xué)家去完成。無(wú)疑這項(xiàng)工作是非常危險(xiǎn)的，但是我們文章的作者作為火山學(xué)家卻認(rèn)為這是一份令人振奮的工作。此時(shí)讓學(xué)生首先猜測(cè)其中原因，鍛煉他們的猜測(cè)能力，然后播放文章作者的一句話，說(shuō)出真正的原因。最后問(wèn)學(xué)生是否想更多地了解全文，以此導(dǎo)入本課主題，完成過(guò)渡環(huán)節(jié)。Step 2. Skimming 略讀Purpose: To get a brief understanding of the text and summarize the main idea of the text.目 的：使學(xué)生對(duì)文章有個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的了解并且能概括出文章主旨。1. Get the students to read the passage quickly. Give them several minutes to look through the whole passage. Tell them to read the text silently in order to improve their reading speed and then summarize the main idea of the text. 2. Get the students to read the passage again, focusing on the connection between the paragraghs, analyze the structure of the text. A choice will be shown to help them.3. After the students can understand the structure clearly, ask them to match the main idea of each paragraph with the right one.設(shè)計(jì)理念：為了培養(yǎng)學(xué)生略讀的能力，在此設(shè)計(jì)了三個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)。首先在剛開(kāi)始接觸文章時(shí)讓學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì)快速瀏覽文章，抓住文章主旨。其次在此基礎(chǔ)上讓學(xué)生把閱讀的重點(diǎn)放在段落之間的關(guān)系上，以便分清篇章結(jié)構(gòu)。最后就是落位每一節(jié)的主要內(nèi)容，做到對(duì)于文章的脈絡(luò)很清晰地把握。Step 3 . Scanning 查讀Purpose: To get the students grasp some details in the passage, which will be helpful to their understanding about the passage.目 的：讓學(xué)生通過(guò)掌握一些文章細(xì)節(jié)，來(lái)鍛煉他們查找細(xì)節(jié)信息的能力，同時(shí)讓這些細(xì)節(jié)幫助學(xué)生更具體的理解文章內(nèi)容。 1. To get the students read the passage carefully, paying attention to the details. Then, show them some sentences asking Ss to decide whether they are true or false, if there are any mistakes, try to correct them.2. In order to help the students understand the passage more clearly, a fill-in-blank exercise will be given to them, which includes many details.設(shè)計(jì)理念：為了培養(yǎng)學(xué)生查讀信息的能力，在此同樣設(shè)置了兩個(gè)不同的環(huán)節(jié)，判斷改正題和補(bǔ)全文章細(xì)節(jié)題。通過(guò)完成以上任務(wù)后，學(xué)生就能夠依靠查讀的方法對(duì)文章有進(jìn)一步的理解和把握。Step 4. Deduction 推斷Purpose: To get the students to have a deep understanding of the text relying on their own inference and deduction.目 的：讓學(xué)生依靠自己的推理達(dá)到深層次的理解文章內(nèi)涵。1. Ask the students to answer three difficult questions according to the text.2. Ask the students to find out the words that indicate the writers feeling about being a volcanologist. 設(shè)計(jì)理念：對(duì)于文章表層理解之后，要依據(jù)自己的理解感悟一些深層次的問(wèn)題，比如文章沒(méi)直接表述出來(lái)的內(nèi)容或作者時(shí)不時(shí)表達(dá)的思想感受。以此做到由淺入深，由表及里的把握。尤其在問(wèn)到第三個(gè)問(wèn)題時(shí)，“為何熔巖比山體崩發(fā)更危險(xiǎn)？”由于理解上有一定難度，我在這里加上了一段FLASH動(dòng)畫(huà)來(lái)幫助學(xué)生理解。動(dòng)畫(huà)很形象地表現(xiàn)出巖石崩發(fā)時(shí)周圍沒(méi)有居民，而滾燙的熔巖流經(jīng)很遠(yuǎn)，會(huì)埋葬途經(jīng)的一切，對(duì)人類造成危害。Step 5 . Association 聯(lián)想Purpose: To get the students to associate themselves with the occupation- volcanologist .目 的：讓學(xué)生把自己將來(lái)的職業(yè)向火山學(xué)家靠攏，激發(fā)他們?yōu)槿祟愖鲐暙I(xiàn)的熱情。T: The key word of the text is “exciting”, which is the focus of the passage. By telling the readers his everyday work, the importance of his job, his first sight of volcano eruption and his sincere love for his job, the author proves its his chief enjoyment to be a volcanologist. And I appreciate the writers attitude towards nature. We should love nature and we can do something to minimize the damage caused by natural forces. “Do you want to bee a volcanologist?” So lets suppose a situation :If the writer came to our classroom,what would you talk about? Make up a dialogue with your partner.設(shè)計(jì)理念：通過(guò)本節(jié)閱讀課的學(xué)習(xí)，讓學(xué)生了解火山學(xué)家職業(yè)的獨(dú)特性，既危險(xiǎn)艱難，又令人振奮，充滿挑戰(zhàn)。以此激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)科學(xué)家不畏艱險(xiǎn)，勇于為人類做貢獻(xiàn)的偉大精神。并且，爭(zhēng)取使學(xué)生把自己將來(lái)的職業(yè)選擇向火山學(xué)家靠攏。在這里由一個(gè)問(wèn)題“你是否想當(dāng)火山學(xué)家？”設(shè)置一個(gè)情景，假設(shè)書(shū)中作者來(lái)到班級(jí)，學(xué)生會(huì)和他有怎樣的交流呢？刺激他們努力學(xué)習(xí)，刻苦鉆研，將來(lái)為全人類做出貢獻(xiàn)。源于此，才設(shè)計(jì)了最后一個(gè)聯(lián)想討論的環(huán)節(jié)。Step 6. Homework 作業(yè)Purpose: To put their piffling thoughts together and practise their writing ability.目 的：使學(xué)生把剛才討論中展現(xiàn)出來(lái)的瑣碎思想整合在一起，針對(duì)他們是否想成為火山學(xué)家進(jìn)行寫(xiě)作鍛煉，鍛煉學(xué)生的寫(xiě)作能力。Try to write a short position about the reason why you want to bee a volcanologist or not. 設(shè)計(jì)理念：學(xué)生真正感受到火山學(xué)家的特有作用后，懂得了科學(xué)家在應(yīng)對(duì)自然災(zāi)害時(shí)的重要作用。正如一開(kāi)始所說(shuō)，我們無(wú)能力改變大自然，但可以保護(hù)大自然，有效地預(yù)防自然災(zāi)害，減輕災(zāi)難給人類帶來(lái)了嚴(yán)重后果。因此，設(shè)計(jì)的作業(yè)為一篇小作文，讓學(xué)生把剛才討論中展現(xiàn)出來(lái)的瑣碎思想整合在一起談?wù)勛约菏欠駥?lái)想當(dāng)火山學(xué)家以及原因。在完成閱讀課的同時(shí)鍛煉學(xué)生的寫(xiě)作能力，做到所謂的“一箭雙雕”。Step7. Reflection 課后反思學(xué)生評(píng)價(jià)：用90% ，60% ，30% ，或10% 表示1.對(duì)于基本火山爆發(fā)前后的細(xì)節(jié)知識(shí)掌握了多少？（ ）2.對(duì)于這節(jié)課的四大閱讀技巧運(yùn)用的如何？ 預(yù)測(cè)（ ）略讀（ ）查讀（ ）推斷（ ）3.學(xué)完本課后，是否激發(fā)了自己熱愛(ài)科學(xué)，想當(dāng)火山學(xué)家的熱情？（ ）教師自評(píng)：通過(guò)本節(jié)課的講解，在借助了各種現(xiàn)代教育技術(shù)和手段的前提下，基本達(dá)到了預(yù)期的三大教學(xué)目標(biāo)，突破了其中的教學(xué)重點(diǎn)和難點(diǎn)，激發(fā)了學(xué)生熱愛(ài)科學(xué)想當(dāng)火山學(xué)家的熱情，同時(shí)也體現(xiàn)了新課改中“以學(xué)生為本”的思想。不足之處有二，其一，由于不習(xí)慣錄像課的因素，自己在進(jìn)行引導(dǎo)學(xué)生時(shí)出現(xiàn)個(gè)別語(yǔ)言的口誤，影響了學(xué)生的思路；其二，在讓學(xué)生對(duì)文章的結(jié)構(gòu)進(jìn)行歸納時(shí)，個(gè)別學(xué)生出現(xiàn)錯(cuò)誤理解，自己沒(méi)有及時(shí)給予技巧上的指導(dǎo)，忽略了個(gè)別學(xué)生專題能力的培養(yǎng)。以后還應(yīng)針對(duì)閱讀題中“篇章結(jié)構(gòu)” 題多加練習(xí)，給予具體引導(dǎo)，幫助學(xué)生理解。附：板書(shū)設(shè)計(jì) Unit 5 The Power of Nature Reading: An “exciting” jobenthusiastic never boredfeel alive amazed excited
