1、 Grade 8 Module 4 Education Unit2 Project Hope has built many schools. 一、教學(xué)目標(biāo): 1.知識與技能: To understand what Project Hope has done; To write about what one has achieved in English study. 具體地說,掌握本模塊中關(guān)于教育和希望工程的詞匯(raise, describe, drop, drop out of school, important, ill, look after, pay, hea

2、r of, perhaps);掌握現(xiàn)在完成時的用法;能聽懂對行為和狀態(tài)持續(xù)的表述;能利用how long,since 和for進行問答;能掌握文章大意;能結(jié)合圖片介紹希望工程以及其他類似機構(gòu)。 2.情感態(tài)度:通過了解希望工程,增強民族文化意識;能夠了解偏遠貧困地區(qū)人民的疾苦,向貧苦孩子伸出援助之手,培養(yǎng)仁愛之心,關(guān)愛之心。 3.學(xué)習(xí)策略:培養(yǎng)自主學(xué)習(xí)的能力與合作精神,在活動中去參與和體驗,運用英語。 二、教學(xué)設(shè)計 Teaching steps Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity 1.Warming-up

3、 Help students to revise what was learnt in Period one of this module. Show them some pictures about Project Hope. Have the Ss. answer questions about Unit 1; talk about the pictures about Project Hope. Revise the Present Perfect Tense. (Some exercises about the Present Perfect Tense.) 1. Ha

4、ve you heard the latest news? 2. Some scientists have sent a spacecraft to Mars. 3. And have the astronauts discovered life on Mars? 4. But astronauts have already been to the moon. 5. We have just watched a programme on TV. 6.Theyhaven’t discovered life on Mars yet.. 7. Astronauts have alread

5、y landed on the moon. etc.) 2.In put I.Learn the new words. Label the pictures with the words. (1). Read through the words on the blackboard. (2).Read the words separately and have them remember them. Have the Ss. Repeat them after you. Remember the words. Make some sentences with t

6、he words. (3)Call back the answers from the whole class. II. Read the table and talk about Project Hope. (1). Read through the table on the pictures. (2). Call back some comments from the whole class. Have the Ss. discuss their ideas with another pair. 3.Practice I.Read the

7、 passage andchoose the main idea. (1).The teacher ask the Ss to read the passage “ Hope for the future” (2).Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answer IIMatch the words with their meanings (1)Ask the Ss to do activity 4 individually. They can use a diction

8、ary if necessary. Then check with a partner. (2) Call back the answers from the whole class as complete sentences. III.Answer the questions in activity3 on Page 29. (1)Read through the questions and make sure the Ss understand what to do. (2)Call back the answers from the whole class, having in

9、dividuals read out the answers IV.Language use Answer the questions in Activity 5 on page 29. (1)Ss do it by themselves .Let’s see who can finish it as soon as possible. (2). Give the students some time to recall what they’ve learned in this class. Ss read the passage and find the main ide

10、a, giving reasons for the choice given. Ss do activity 4 individually. They can use a dictionary if necessary. Then check with a partner. Ss do activity 3 on page 29 individually and check with a partner. Ss do it by themselves . Then discuss in pairs and share their answers with

11、 the class. 4.Out put I. Do activity 6 Read through the sentences with the class.Ensure they understand how and, or and but are being used. II.Think about your education. Answer the questions. Look at the sentences. And write more sentences. Use and, or, but. Ss work in pairs and

12、 produce a minimum of one sentence of each type. Ss do this activity individually. They can then compare their answers with a partner. 5.Freedback This unit is about Education and Project Hope.Ss just understand the present perfect tense and what Project Hope has done. They can use “for / since”

13、to make the present persent tense’s sentences. Most students can use the vocabulary to expressthe step of using this tense in English freely. 15、g to school a few years ago.他幾年前不上學(xué)了。注意 :stop doing sth. / stop to do sth. 的用法區(qū)別: stop doing sth把正在做的事情停下來;stop to do sth. 停下來去做另一件事情。He stopped to have a cup of tea.他停下來去喝杯茶。 4.Because of Project Hope, thousands of children have better lives.因為有了希望工程,成千上萬的孩子們過上了更好的生活。because of表示“因為”,后面接名詞或名詞短語。如:

16、 He didn’t go to the park because of the rain.因為下雨,他沒去公園。注意:介詞短語because of后面需接名詞或名詞短語,而使用連詞 because 時,后面就要接一個從句。如: He didn’t go to the park because it rained.因為下雨,他沒去公園。 7.Evaluation 1、鼓勵評價2、活動評價3、小組議價4、知識測評5、自我評價。 8.Homework Retell the text. Finish the exercises in the workbook Ex. 5 ,
