1、Unit 2 Schoolbag A Let’s learn Let’s do Shiyan Primary School Chen Ling Good morning, everyone. I’m Chen Ling from Shiyan Primary School. I’m very glad to show the outline of my teaching plan for Unit 2 Part A Let’s learn and Let’s do from Book 4. My explanation falls into the following 3 part

2、s. Part 1 Analysis of the teaching materials 1. Status and function I think this is an important lesson in Book 4. Such a topic is related to Ss’ daily life. It can arouse the students’ special attention and encourge them to take an interest in learning English. It can also help to train students

3、’ listening and speaking skills. 2. Analysis of students It is not a long history that English is as a subject in primary school in our country,and the main aims of teaching English in primary school is to train pupils’ abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English

4、 language. After learning this lesson, Ss will show a great interest in English. 3. Teaching aims and demands 1). Knowledge objects a) Listen、speak and read the key words: schoolbag, Chinese book, English book, math book, notebook, story-book. b) Can use the key sencence“How many +Cn (pl) do yo

5、u have? I have …” c) Listen to the instructions, do the actions correctly. 2). Abilities objects a)To develop Ss’ abilities of listening and speaking. b) To train the Ss’ abilities of communication and their innovation. 3). Moral objects Find English everywhere, use English everywhere. 4.Ke

6、y points and difficulties 1). Key points a) The key words: schoolbag, Chinese book, English book, math book, notebook, story-book. b) The key sencence“How many +Cn (pl) do you have? I have …” 2). Difficulties a.Listen to the instructions, do the actions correctly. b.Understand the preposition

7、s of place: in, on , under, near. 5. Teaching aids A big schoolbag, some school things, word cards, a tape recorder Part 2 Teaching methods and learning methods I mainly use real things ,and I also design many interesting games to help Ss to study. Studtent-centered teaching method and task-bas

8、ed teaching method will be used in this lesson. Part 3 Teaching procedures Step 1 Warm-up In order to make students active, I design a chant. Chant In, in the classroom, we are in the classroom. On, on the chair, the pencil is on the chair. Under, under the desk, the pen is under the desk.

9、 Near, near the bag, the book is near the bag. In this way, Ss can review the prepositions of place they have learnt .It’ll take about 2 minutes. Step 2. Revision Show a pencil-case to Ss, ask:“What’s this?”Get them to guess what is in it, guide them to revise the school things like: ruler, pen,

10、pencil, eraser, sharpener. I’ll put up the word cards on the blackboard. And I can show them 2 pens, 3 sharpeners or many pencils, ask them How many pens do you have? Guide them to answer I have 2 pens /many pencils . In this step, students revise the words and sentences they’ll use in this lesson

11、by speaking, they are always the masters, so student-centered teaching method is used. It’ll take about 5 minutes. Step 3 Presentation 1. Teach new words by real things. I’ll show a schoolbag, ask What’s this? Ss may say It’s a bag. I can correct It’s a schoolbag and put up the word card on the

12、blackboard, ask them to follow me to read for several times. Then get Ss to guess what is in my schoolbag. I take out a Chinese book, put up the word card, ask them to follow me to read. At the same time, ask them to show me their Chinese books. After that, show them two Chinese books, ask How many

13、 Chinese books do I have? Then ask How many Chinese books do you have? Guide them to answer I have …Or maybe I can get them to do actions ,for example, put your Chinese book on your desk. Use the same way, teach other new words. In this step, Ss can not only learn the new words but also practice t

14、he key sentences for many times. 2. Consolidate new words 1)Divide the whole class into 2 groups to have a competition. Each group stand in a big circle, I’ll put many school things on the floor. I’ll say many different words, if the student who hears the word clearly, pick up the things quickly.

15、 2)Bingo Hand out a chart to each student, get them to write the words they learn this lesson into the squares. Then listen and cross out the words they hear. Say BINGO when they get a row of crosses. BINGO The games are interesting, it can train Ss’ both listening and writing

16、 skills, also it can improve Ss’ great interest in English. 3. Consolidate sentences: Do a survey Get Ss to ask their classmates how many school things they have, finish the chart below. How many … do you have? pencils Chinese books English books math books notebooks story-books

17、 Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss’ ability of communication and also their ability of cooperation will be well trained. Step 4 Let’s do 1.Use the real things, each time I give an instruction and do the action to help the Ss to understand. For example, after I say the

18、instruction, Put your notebook under your bag, I put my notebook under my bag. Then, ask Ss to repeat the instruction and do the action. Get Ss to open their books, turn to Page 16, , listen to the tape of Let’s do and follow to read. 2.Game Devide the whole class into 2 big groups, first, all of

19、 the students in Group 1 stand up, put the school things on the desk. I give different instructions such as Put your pencil in your desk , the students who do the wrong action are out, they must sit down. The others go on playing the game. Also,I can invite some students from Group 2 to give the ins

20、tructions. Then , it’s Group 2’s turn. Finally, which group has the more students standing wins, encourage them. To present the key structures one by one is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. Proper competition can arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. Step 5 Summa

21、ry After the game, I’ll guide Ss to do a summary to help them get a clear idea of what they have learnt in this lesson. Step 6 Homework 1. Talk about the school things in pairs after class. 2. Listen to the tape of the text and follow to read. Revision is so important that Ss should speak Engl
