Unit 4 Seasons (Reading)
Teaching aims: 1. The students can use the expressions, and the useful sentence structures freely.

Teaching method:: Competition, Self-study, Partner workStep I : Warming up
1. Show the pictures of the four seasons and use the PPT to show the basic structure.:
Which season do you like best ?
I like /don' t likebecause it is ….
2. Look at the picture in P43 and have a guess why Hi doesn, t like summer. And then answer the question : Which season do you like best ? Why?
(To arouse the interest and lead them to get into the topic about seasons)Step II: Before reading
Show the photos of different seasons and ask the following questions:
A: What' s the weather like?
B: Tt' s ….
A: Which season do you think it is?
B: It' s ….
Work in pairs and take turns. Students have to say some adjectives to descibe the weather and different seasons.
Give the students 3mins and ask them to look at the pictures and the sub-headings of the article on P45, then answer the questions on P44.
Check the answers.

1. Students underline the key phrases in 2niins.
2. The teacher show some pictures by PPT, and explain the usage of the important phrases and the main language points , the basic structures of the text, try to give more chance for students to make the sentencesFour students read each season for all the students.
3. The teachers plays the tape and students read after it.
4. Group work to show the structure and invite one to make similar sentences.

1. Students complete the article with the words from the box by themselves.
2. Check the answers and give some help.
